Barca's tough break

Liverpool reject €125 million bid for Philippe Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho wants to leave Liverpool. He is making that clear in his every move. Last week, he handed in a transfer request while he looked unhappy at training. But it is not helping the negotiations in advancing.
Liverpool will not budge. The Reds have rejected the latest offer from Barcelona. Barcelona had submitted a bid of €125 million but Liverpool instantly rejected it.
But the deal can go through. But it will involve a lot of complications. Coutinho can take legal steps to ensure that he gets his move. But it is unlikely to happen. Coutinho is contracted to Liverpool until 2022.

Also, Liverpool have a reputation for not being a selling club. They did not allow Steven Gerrard to leave even though he had expressed a desire to leave the club. They also created a saga about Luis Suarez’s move to the Camp Nou.

Paris Saint-Germain offer Julian Draxler to Barcelona

Last season, Paris Saint-Germain had 8 forwards. But their first-team could afford only 3. Usually, it was a forward combination of Julian Draxler, Angel di Maria and Edinson Cavani. That meant that talented players like Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore had to warm the bench.
But with the arrival of Neymar, a ninth forward has been added to the PSG squad. It means exclusion of Julian Draxler from the first-team to accommodate Neymar on the left wing.
According to Mundo Deportivo, PSG are offering Julian Draxler to Barcelona as a replacement for Neymar. The report states that Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique has contacted Draxler’s agent Roger Wittman and told him to begin negotiations with other clubs.
Initially, Robert Fernandez had not shortlisted Draxler to replace Neymar. But with just 2 weeks of the transfer window left and negotiations for Coutinho and Dembele failing, Barcelona may do well to go for Draxler.
