A Nigerian Presidential jet believed to be carrying President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Stansted Airport in London on its way to Nigeria's federal capital Abuja. The jet departed Stansted at exactly 10:27 AM (UTC 9:27) London time several hours after the office of the Nigerian Presidency issued a statement stating that President Buhari was set to return to Abuja. The jet is expected to land in Abuja around 4:30 PM Nigerian time.

President Buhari left Nigeria on May 7 for medical treatment in the UK for an undisclosed illness, his presidential jet, A Boeing Business Jet with tail number "NAF 001" arrived London via Luton Airport the next day it was flown and packed at Stansted Airport throughout the duration of his stay in the UK.
